While this carving resembles the Ichthus fish, it doesn’t seem to have any additional markings to indicate it is so, although it could be interpreted as such by the beholder. The fish has a unique, smooth two-toned gradient wood, with a darker top fading into a lighter shade into the base, which is rounded and has 2 stickers on the bottom. One sticker has its origins as being of “Blue Ribbon” Oregon myrtlewood, from Seagull Gift Shop in Depoe Bay, Oregon. It also has a sticker indicating it is a salmon, although it doesn’t have the specific carved salmon shape of typical wooden salmon fish carvings. Measurements of the fish from top to bottom are 9” length x 4 3/4” height; round base is 2 3/4” width. It is in preowned, excellent condition, with light scratches on one side that are hardly noticeable. Please view photos carefully.
